Meribel
The Three Valleys
The Three Valleys comprise of the Courchevel,
Méribel and the Belleville resorts in the Savoie
region. 1400 sq km are fitted out for winter sports
activities during the winter months and
numerous other activities in the summer such as
hiking, climbing, fishing and mountain biking. It is
the largest ski area in the World - 600km of ski
slopes with 183 ski lifts.

The Crêtes, on the Tougnète ridge has a ‘genuine
rustic interior, excellent food and is very
reasonably priced.
Folie Douce, self-service and table-service
Fruitière in the mid-station of La Saulire is part of
a chain of decadent après-ski bars (Val d’Isère,
Tignes, Courchevel). Pricey
Courcheval area
Bel Air - At the top of Ariondaz gondola or up the
Roc Mugnieur chair lift and then ski down the
Ariondaz run - Excellent food and reasonable
prices. Reservations necessary as it is very
popular.
Le Bouc Blanc, La Tania - just next to the top
station of the La Tania gondola - cheaper than Bel
Air and excellent food.
Chenus self service – Top of Chenus gondola -
good food at reasonable prices
Verdons at the top of the gondola and bottom of
the cable car – very, very expensive
Meribel Apres-ski
La Folie Douce in the mid La Saulire (see above)
Rond Point is a long-established place for après-
ski, with a happy hour from 4-5pm.
Dick’s Tea Bar is farther from the town centre
than some, but open until dawn. The Den Bar and
Kitchen has replaced Pizza Express above the bar
and offers live music most nights.
La Taverne in the centre is very popular bar with
snacks; there is also a restaurant.
Barometer is a lively place with big screens, a pool
table and a large selection of wines.
Jack’s Bar has stand-up comedy, live music and
two-for-one cocktail hours.
